Research Studios has just completed a 6-month project to develop the identity and visual language for the prestigious Royal College of Art, London.
Following a full audit and assessment of the existing identity in application across the college and through its multiple communications platforms (from environment and signage to annual reports and student posters), the Research Studios team, led by Neville Brody, proposed a toolkit of new and developed elements.
These elements will be used to create a consolidated and user-friendly system that can be applied, in a joined-up solution, from the corporate heart of the organisation, sub-brands and individual programme, tutor or student activity.
„The new RCA brand language creates a structure and voice imbued with the RCA’s core values, which unites and empowers. With a solid base underpinned by authority and heritage, they can be free to express their creativity and innovative nature.“ Neville Brody.
Amongst other developments, Research Studios created a new lock up and relationship between the Royal College’s crest, logo and „Postgraduate Art and Design“ strap line and implemented a corporate colour change from the RCA red to an equally regal, but more modern, RCA blue.
